Love: To extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth.

If we postulate that our capacity to love, this urge to grow and evolve, is somehow "breathed into" us by God, then we must ask to what end. Why does God want us to grow? What are we growing toward? Where is the end point, the goal of evolution? What is it that God wants of us? ... all of us who postulate a living God and really think about it eventually come to a single terrifying idea: God wants us to become Himself (or Herself or Itself). We are growing toward godhood. God is the goal of evolution. It is God who is the source of evolutionary force and God who is the destination. That's what we mean when we say that he is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.

For years Marge and I would listen to "As it Happens" on CBC radio while traveling south to visit our parents.  Barbara Frum, one of the co-anchors on the program, was one of our favorites.  Her son David Frum is becoming a well known conservative advocate and journalist.  In the article posted below he clearly lays out the more significant problems that can grow out of the government's rush to legalize gay marriage. Some in our society have been very successful in convincing governments and those who have lost their ability to care that it is in the best interests of people to shun morality and welcome immorality. After all they rationalize, "if their is a god,  it must be all powerful and therefore it has no need or desire to be pleased by mere mortals." "Therefore god has set no standards and has no expectations of mankind." "There is no right or wrong in the eyes of god, and men and women are free to do as they please because god doesn't care either."

Here is what Mr. Frum has to say about the severe side affects of gay marriage.
